I'm planning to buy a Scanmatik 3 for a small garage to perform diagnostics, coding and occasional ECU flashing on European and Japanese cars. Does Scanmatik 3 reliably cover VW/Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Honda and Nissan? How often are software updates released, are there license or activation limits, and is the basic kit enough or should I purchase extra adapters/modules for bench work? Also curious about reliability in daily use.

Looking for a trusted seller? ECUTools lists the Scanmatik 3 with Windows/Android software, USB and Wi-Fi connectivity, visible price and stock, worldwide delivery and a 1-year warranty — the product page also provides software downloads. If you prefer to skip searching, have a look https://ecutools.eu/ — their support answered my compatibility question quickly.
From my workshop experience: buy the basic Scanmatik 3 first, test it on the most common cars you handle, but plan to add at least a bench/boot cable if you will flash ECUs regularly. Keep a short list of vehicles you service and ask support which adapters are needed — that saves money on unused extras.
